| What we believe |
|||||
We believe The Trinity. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, sharing the same nature and attributes. God the Father created the universe. He is loving, compassionate, just and kind. His deepest desire is to live in an intimate relationship with all people. The first people were created perfect, like God the creator. But because of their disobedience, all people are naturally infected with sin and often choose to do evil. Being spiritually dead, all people need to be rescued. Jesus Christ, to fulfill God’s desire to live in a loving relationship with people, became a human being. Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, is fully God and fully man. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus removed the barrier between people and God and made it possible for all people to live in a satisfying relationship with God. The Holy Spirit. Through him God creates faith and empowers each believer with gifts and abilities. Faith is the trust that God offers forgiveness to all people because of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Faith is the assurance that the promises in the Bible are true. The Bible is often called the Word of God. In it God reveals Himself and his will. The entire Bible is God-breathed and God-inspired and thus reliable. The Old and New Testaments are the standard upon which we base our faith. The church is people gathered to worship God, serve him and be the agency through which the Good News of his grace is shared with the world. In Baptism God adopts people into his family, washes them of sin and gives them a new, forgiven, beginning to life. In Communion Jesus shares the benefits of His death and resurrection by assuring the participants of the forgiveness of their sins and his continued presence to empower their Christian life At the end of life, God will welcome believers to eternity in heaven, leaving the rest to eternity in hell. |
